Home Exchange Using Your Points
Create an Account
Sign up to Hombie and complete your member profile.
List Your Home
Add photos, descriptions, amenities, availability, and house rules. When your listing is published, Hombie will set your nightly rate value in points.
Earn Points
You will receive your initial allocation of points from Hombie and then earn points by hosting other members while you’re away.
Search for a Destination
Browse homes in your desired destination and check how many points are required per night and multiply this by the number of nights of the stay. Check you have the required points.
Discuss and Agree on the Stay
Message the host to request a stay for specific dates. Confirm availability, expectations, house rules, and any other details with the host.
Book and Confirm
Finalize the exchange by sending the required points through the platform to the host.
Accept Other Members
Accept and finalize members that would like to come to your home and receive their points, while your away.
Prepare for Travel
Get travel plans in place, then enjoy your holiday while your host earns points they can use later.
Leave a Review
After your stay, leave feedback to help other members and keep the community trustworthy.

Create an Account
Sign up to Hombie and complete your member profile.
List Your Home
Add photos, descriptions, amenities, availability, and house rules. When your listing is published, Hombie will set your nightly rate value in points.
Earn Points

Search for a Destination
Browse homes in your desired destination. You will know if the accommodation is similar to your home by the nightly rate. If the values are similar, so are the properties but are never the same. (Destinations do affect points though)
Discuss and Agree on the Swap
Message the host to request a swap with your home for specific dates. Confirm availability, expectations, house rules, and any other details with each other.
Book and Confirm
Finalize the exchange by both of you confirming the house swap.
Prepare for Travel
Get travel plans in place, then enjoy your holiday while either of you lose any points.

When The Pets Are Involved
The beauty of travelling with Hombie is that your pets can be looked after as well, if you need them to be. They get a little holiday as well.
“When the master is away, the pets will play”.
For House Swaps – You simply agree to take care of each others pets. Simple, and sometimes its nice to have a pet with you on holidays.
For Home Exchanges – If its just the fish that need feeding, or the chooks, or a cat that just needs to be fed, thats usually not a problem. But, if you have a pet that is needy and needs people around to look after them all day. That’s an issue. Not a lot of people want to go on holidays to have to babysit a beloved needy pet.
You will more than likely need a house sitter. So how does house sitting work?

Earn Points
You will receive an allocation of points from Hombie for each trip you plan away.
Determine Your Pets Needs
Would a house swap suit you, could you get away with a home exchange situation where its just the gold fish that need feeding for example. Or, do you need a house sitter to take care of everything while your away. You can choose all 3 if you wish.
House Swaps and home Exchanges
These are simple, the holiday makers coming into your home agree with your conditions to look after your pets.
If You Need a House Sitter
You have pets that need more than just feeding and to be left alone. Thats when you need one of our capable and reliable house sitters. Your home and pets will show in our listings for house sitters to message you, or, you can approach the house sitters that you feel are best for your pets.
Select Your House Sitter
Once you have chosen your house sitter, you simply book them in for your dates and they agree to the sit. Its booked. All house sitters on Hombie are free, you just give them some of your points per pet. You will find more info here.
Leftover Points
Whatever points you have left over after the house sit, can be accumulated to arrange a home exchange holiday using your points as per a normal home exchange.
Future Holidays
You can use your points to book your next house sitters and a future holiday using the home exchange method.

Verify Your Identity
Complete any required background checks or identity verification.
List Your House Sitters Profile
Add photos, descriptions, availability, and the pets you enjoy looking after. Indicate your preferred locations, dates and house sit durations.
Browse House Sit Listings
Search for available house sits based on your preferences – location, pets, dates, or type of home.
Apply for House Sits
Send a thoughtful, personalized message or application to the homeowner explaining why you’re a great fit.
Chat with the Homeowner
If the homeowner is interested, you’ll usually have a meeting, video call or message exchange to discuss expectations, pets, responsibilities, and logistics.
Confirm the House Sit
Once both parties are happy, confirm the sit through the website’s booking system.
Do the House Sit
Arrive on time, follow instructions, care for pets and the home, and communicate regularly with the homeowner.
Earn Points
You will receive points from the homeowner through the platform for your sit. These points when accumulated can be used for a home stay holiday.
